Заградитель состоит из двух пластин. Одну из них, имеющую сплошной вырез, прибивают или прикручивают к летку. Вторая в виде защелки скользит по первой и прикрывает проход. Если перевернуть защелку, проход будет закрыт для пчел, при этом вентиляция происходит через мелкие отверстия в защелке.
Этот заградитель применяется при перевозке, организации новых отводков и в других случаях вынужденной изоляции пчел в улье.
